Guidelines available online. Covers the role, powers, procedure, resolution, and appeals of the Ombudsman's decisions. The Ombudsman is an independent and impartial dispute resolution service available to any policy holder or customer with a complaint about his or her insurance or savings company. This service is free and no lawyer is needed. A complaint may be taken to court by a policy holder if he or she is not happy with the decision. Insurance and savings companies may not proceed to court.
