Financial Services Federation Inc
The Financial Services Federation is a voluntary industry body. Membership of the Federation includes building societies, major finance companies, the PSIS and other non-banking financial intermediaries. Adherence to a Code of Conduct is a condition of membership of the Federation. The Federation does not investigate complaints itself but will intervene to ensure complaints against its members are investigated and acted upon.

In the first instance, you should try and sort out your complaint with the company concerned. If you are not satisfied, you can take your complaint to the Federation. Complaints should be addressed to the Federation's Executive Director at the address shown above. The Federation will refer the matter to the chief executive of the company for investigation and action. The chief executive is required to advise the Federation of the outcome of the investigation.

The Ombudsman is an independent and impartial dispute resolution service available to any policy holder or customer with a complaint about his or her insurance or savings company. This service is free and no lawyer is needed. A complaint may be taken to court by a policy holder if he or she is not happy with the decision. Insurance and savings companies may not proceed to court.

This independent and impartial service investigates complaints against participating insurance and savings companies. The service is free, no lawyer is needed. It is available for any policy holder or customer in a dispute with his or her insurance or savings company about personal or domestic insurance or savings services. If you are unhappy with the decision of the Insurance & Savings Ombudsman you can take the complaint to court. The insurance or savings company cannot do so.
